There is something to be said for a woman who is comfortable in her skin, but there is also something about a woman unafraid of a little makeup.  A new lipstick shade or eye shadow can take your confidence to another level.

If you follow any of the beauty blogs or frequent social media sites, you are probably overwhelmed with posts about the latest must-have lipstick line/shade or newest foundation that claims its benefits are far superior to others before.  Now, you’re confused.  You’re in desperate need of a new look and would love to try them all but then you remember one thing…your budget.  No worries!  Here are some fun, easy and budget-friendly ways to upgrade your look without spending a dime.

 1)    Create a tinted moisturizer

Summer is upon us.  If you are used to wearing a heavier foundation in the colder months, lighten things up a bit by creating a tinted moisturizer.  Mix your foundation with a bit of moisturizer that contains spf and…voila!  This is a simple way to achieve a light, natural look and even skin tone.  Perfect for hot summer days!

2)    Use your blush as an eye shadow and vice versa
Many blush and eye shadow products are formulated the same/similar but packaged differently.  Cream or powder blush, in the right color and applied properly can do wonders to add a bit of pop to your eyes.  Same goes for shadow.

3)   Create a signature shade of lipstick

You’ve worn the same 2 shades of lipstick for a while now or you may have a ton of shades and are looking for a shade you don’t have in your arsenal.  Start by choosing two lipsticks in the same color family, and possibly with different textures and effects.  Start with a deep or bright base shade applied all over the lips, then use a light or shimmering shade to highlight the center.  If you are nervous about how it will turn out, test it out on another surface like the back of your hand.  If you like the new color, melt the chosen lipstick shades into a palette for easy application.
